Hooch Raises $44,000 in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Head of the Hooch rowers raised over $44,000 in the fight against breast cancer at the 2007 Head of the Hooch Regatta on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The two-day regatta featured two U.S. National Team men’s eights, which set aside their red, white and blue in favor of pink uniforms and oar blades to support the fight against breast cancer.

Seventy-two crews participated in four Row for the Cure women's events including the Masters Eight, College and Club Novice Eight, Masters Four and Masters Double Sculls. Sponsorships, program donations, bandana sales, and a $1,000 grant from Pocock Racing Shells totaled over $8,000 to benefit the Chattanooga Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Four Clubs Hold Fundraisers

In addition to the four Hooch events, participating clubs were encouraged to hold pre-Hooch Row for the Cure® events to benefit their local Komen for the Cure affiliates.
